Erewash Voluntary Action (EVA) is thrilled to announce an opportunity to become part of our dedicated team as a Community Activator for the Sawley and Sandiacre areas. With a focus on combating loneliness and social isolation, this role is pivotal in fostering community well-being and resilience.

 

Location: Erewash, Derbyshire

Contract: 12 Months (with the possibility of extension, subject to funding)

Hours: 30 per week, including occasional weekend and evening work

Salary: £24,897.60 per annum

About the Role:

As a Community Activator, you will:

  • Develop and implement Community Wellness Action Plans in collaboration with local networks.

  • Act as a catalyst for community action, empowering residents towards the common good.

Living Well Locality Co-ordinator

Erewash Voluntary Action (EVA) is a leading advocate for mental health and community well-being across Derby and Derbyshire. We are excited to announce an opportunity for a dynamic individual to join our team as the Living Well Locality Co-ordinator. This role is instrumental in driving collaborative efforts to support transformational change in mental health services.

Location: Erewash, Derbyshire

Hours: 37 hours per week (including some weekend and evening work)

Salary: £28,000 per annum

Contract: 12-month fixed term

What You Will Do:

  • Coordinate and manage collaborative meetings to facilitate dialogue and action.

Exciting Leadership Opportunity at Erewash Voluntary Action: Community Development Worker and Team Leader

 

Location: Erewash, with office base in Long Eaton

Hours: 37 per week, including some weekend and evening work

About Erewash Voluntary Action (EVA):

EVA is at the heart of the voluntary and community sector in Erewash, leading and supporting through a range of services including voluntary sector support, capacity building, and funded programmes. With 25 paid staff and 128 registered volunteers, EVA owns and manages a large centre dedicated to community development. We are now looking for an inspirational Community Development Worker and Team Leader to lead our Community Development Team.

 

The Role:

As the Community Development Worker and Team Leader, you will:

  • Lead and inspire the Community Development Team, driving growth and enhancing the reach of the voluntary sector in Erewash.

  • Coordinate development activities for new and established community groups.

  • Provide expert advice, support, and funding guidance to voluntary and community organisations.

  • Oversee key projects such as the Connect Erewash Project and the EVA small grants scheme.

  • Represent EVA within wider Erewash system partnerships and contribute to EVA's ongoing development.

About Erewash Voluntary Action (EVA):

EVA leads and supports the voluntary and community sector in Erewash, extending its reach to cover Southern Derbyshire and Derby City. Our organisation delivers vital services, including support for the voluntary sector, capacity-building programmes, and impactful initiatives such as the Derbyshire Mental Health Forum, shopping assistance, volunteering, and Social Prescribing. With a large centre that we own, we provide rental spaces to community organisations. EVA is proud to have 23 dedicated staff members and 165 registered volunteers.

 

Your Unique Role:

Are you passionate about ensuring that voluntary and community groups play pivotal roles in health and social care planning and delivery? Do you want to collaborate with commissioners and partners to innovate and build on best practices? The Derby and Derbyshire Integrated Care System is forging ahead in developing a comprehensive health and social care plan. As part of this system, the Mental Health System Delivery Board is eager to enhance engagement with various VCSE groups in planning, designing, delivering, and evaluating services. This role is pivotal in developing strategic partnership approaches, empowering VCSE groups to maximise their impact through commissioning.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Awareness of the VCSE sector.

  • Experience working at a senior level.

  • Understanding of the health and social care context.

Location: Erewash, Derbyshire

Erewash Voluntary Action (EVA) is at the forefront of promoting mental health and suicide prevention awareness across Derby and Derbyshire. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Awareness Project Officer to join our team. This role is crucial in empowering sports organisations and workplaces to foster environments that prioritise mental health and suicide prevention.

 

What You Will Do:

Develop and implement comprehensive publicity materials and action plans tailored to sports clubs, gyms, and identified workplaces.

Facilitate access to training and support networks, enhancing mental health awareness and suicide prevention efforts. This includes running a network for Mental Health First Aiders, ensuring they are supported and effectively integrated into our partner organisations.

Engage with sports governing bodies, partner organisations, and community groups to promote mental health policies and practices.

Monitor and evaluate the project's success, ensuring alignment with Public Health recommendations and commitment to national mental health charters.

 

Who We Are Looking For:

A highly motivated individual with excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to promoting good mental health.

An adept learner who is computer literate, able to work independently, and possesses a positive approach to problem-solving.

A candidate with experience in using social media, organising sport and physical activities, and successful partnership working.

Someone with a good understanding of the importance of mental health, equality, diversity, and the voluntary sector.
