Join Our Team as a Community Activator for Sawley and Sandiacre!
Erewash Voluntary Action (EVA) is thrilled to announce an opportunity to become part of our dedicated team as a Community Activator for the Sawley and Sandiacre areas. With a focus on combating loneliness and social isolation, this role is pivotal in fostering community well-being and resilience.
Location: Erewash, Derbyshire
Contract: October 2025 (with the possibility of extension, subject to funding)
Hours: 30 per week, including occasional weekend and evening work
Salary: £26,093 p/a actual

About the Role:
As a Community Activator, you will:

Develop and implement Community Wellness Action Plans in collaboration with local networks.

Employ place-based strategies to engage the community, leveraging local assets to build leadership and cohesion.

Forge positive relationships across the community, enhancing inclusivity and cooperation.

Act as a catalyst for community action, empowering residents towards the common good.

Map local activities, maintain engagement records, and conduct evaluations to measure impact.
Who We're Looking For:
An ideal candidate will have:

Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Experience in community development, with a proven track record of working with diverse groups.

A deep understanding of the voluntary and community sector.

The ability to work flexibly, travel within Erewash, and fully computer literate.
