Erewash Social Connect
Derbyshire County Council Public Health have commissioned Erewash Voluntary Action to lead the development of work to increase social connectedness, reduce loneliness and isolation in Erewash. Our project is called Erewash Social Connect.
What is Social Connectedness?
-
It is our fundamental need to stay connected to others, which in turn creates feelings of belonging and being loved, cared for and valued.
-
Social connections are vital elements in our mental and physical health
- People with stronger social bonds are more likely to live longer, healthier lives
The newly established project will look at ways to work with groups to identify activities which can help improve or reduce isolation in communities.
